This is a lined, close-fitting dress with princess seams that start at the corners of the square neckline, front and back. The waist is a dropped basque that dips to a V at centre front and centre back. The very full puff sleeves have an elastic casing that forms a frill, and a three-tier gathered skirt (about 336 cm at the hem) falls to just above the ankle. It closes with an invisible zip at centre back, and lace trims the necklines, tier seams, hem and sleeve frills.

Fabric and notions
The pattern is for medium-weight woven fabric. Suggested choices are washed linen at 150–170 g/m², a linen-cotton blend at 160 g/m² or stonewashed slub linen, with cotton lawn for the bodice lining. The sample is shown in a matte linen look.
You will need an invisible zip, 6 mm elastic for the sleeves, 1 cm scalloped picot lace for the necklines, 2 cm lace insertion for the tier seams and 3–4 cm scalloped lace edging for the hem and sleeve frills. Lightweight fusible interfacing to back the bodice panels is optional. Pre-wash the linen and the lace together so they shrink alike.
How it is made and how hard it is
The difficulty is 4 out of 5. The basque comes to a sharp point at centre front and centre back: staystitch the points, clip right to the stitching and pivot as you sew tier 1 on. The gathers in tier 1 are bunched more tightly there so the tier sits flat at the point.
Tiers 2 and 3 are too wide to cut on the fold, so they have seams at centre front and centre back, hidden in the gathers. They are given as rectangles with their measurements and are not drawn on the printed pages. The 1 cm picot lace is caught in the neckline seam between bodice and lining, and the 2 cm insertion is topstitched over the tier seams.
Fit and sizing
The bodice is close-fitting, so fit matters. In Ourlette's 3D sewing check the stitched bodice slid down the form instead of staying on the shoulders. The 3D view shows the drawn design, not the sewn pieces, so make a test bodice in scrap fabric before cutting the linen. For a firmer bodice, back the panels with interfacing.
The pattern is drafted to your own measurements or a standard size, and you can adjust it by hand or with the AI before printing.
